Living in a Hotel

Well, it kind of sucks! It could always be worse, but living in a hotel is not really that awesome. Yes, we do get fresh towels everyday but they are small and not nearly as soft as our ones at home were. We have one room and then a little family room area, a bathroom with one sink (and not nearly enough counter space!) and a small kitchenette which consists of a burner a micro size dishwasher and a microwave and fridge. So we aren’t exactly roughing it, but its not the same. Ruby hates it. She barks at everybody that walks by and is still kind of uneasy there. We haven’t left her by herself in the hotel yet just because she is still a little on edge. I do think it is getting better each night. We haven’t replaced her dog bed yet and she thinks the bed is all hers. Needless to say, we have had some rough nights trying to sleep with an 80 pound dog trying to be comfortable. Continue reading

Putting it Back Together

Well its been three days since our lives changed and we all of a sudden have no home. We went by the house today and they are packing up EVERY single thing that is in the house. The couches are totaled and trash and the mattresses and random other things but the little things they put in boxes. Everything will go to this warehouse and try to be cleaned. If they cant clean and salvage it then they will give us money for what it is worth to replace it. These ladies are amazing. They are with Paul Davis Restoration and they will pretty much be doing all of the cleaning and fixing the house. They told Brandon today that just to fix the structural part of the house will be at least $80,000. That’s a lot of money. The ladies from Paul Davis Restoration told us when we are cleared to move back in they will drop off probably 200 boxes at our house and we will just have to unpack everything and put it back.
